EFILE services for the filing of individual income tax returns for the 2023 tax year will be available sometime in early 2024. The Canada Revenue Agency recently issued a program update reminding EFILE service providers that they are required to renew their registration online in order to access EFILE services during the upcoming filing season.

The CRA update, which is available at https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/digital-services-businesses/efile-electronic-filers/efile-news-program-updates.html, also reminds EFILE service providers that the Agency’s screening procedures for all EFILE registration applicants can take up to 30 business days to complete. A listing of relevant dates and deadlines for purposes of EFILE registration applications and/or renewals for the upcoming 2024 filing season can be found in the CRA update.
